The Committee for a Democratic UN was established in 2003 and is based in Berlin. Its German official name is Komitee für eine demokratische UNO, KDUN.
KDUN champions a democratization of the United Nations and the system of Global Governance through parliamentary representation of the world’s citizens.
As an intermediary goal towards a democratic world parliament, the Committee supports the international efforts for the establishment of a UN Parliamentary Assembly.
The Committee connects parliamentarians, representatives of civil society, academics, public persons, and dedicated citizens from around the world who share its goals.
As a specialized think tank, KDUN develops political recommendations and provides expertise.
KDUN is a co-founder and serves as the host organization of the Campaign for a UN Parliamentary Assembly that was launched in 2007.
