Dr. Hermann E. Ott, Senior Associate

born in 1961, studied law in Munich, London and Berlin and took a doctoral degree on “environmental regimes in international law”.  Since 1994 he was employed at the Wuppertal Institute for Climate, Environment and Energy. Among other functions he was Director of the Department on Climate Policy since 1998 (initially as acting director) and since 2004 he was head of the Berlin office. From 2001 to 2007 Mr Ott was a member of the Supervisory Board of Greenpeace Germany. Since October 2009 he is a member of the German Bundestag and sits on the Committee for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety, among others. Mr Ott is a member of the Green party, Bündnis90/Die Grünen.
