Prof. Uwe Holtz, Senior Associate

born in 1944, is professor of Political Science at Bonn University (Faculty of Arts and Humanities), Senior Fellow at Bonn Centre for Development Research (ZEF) and a freelance development consultant. His focus in research and teaching is democracy, human rights, sustainable development, development policy, international relations and Europe.

Prof. Holtz is permanent representative of the Society for International Development at the Council of Europe in Strasbourg and Honorary President of the European Association of former Members of Parliament.

From 1972 to 1994 he was a Member of the German Bundestag, from 1974 to 1994 Chair of the Committee on Economic Cooperation (and Development), 1973 to 1995 a Member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and 1994 to 2000 Board Member of the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) in Washington D.C.  He has been Senior Associate of KDUN since 2009.
