Internet Governance: Ensuring Democracy in Cyberspace

The main goal of the Committee for a Democratic UN (KDUN) is the democratization of the United Nations system as the central pillar of global governance and international relations. Thereby KDUN regards the global public sphere created by the internet as a powerful and decisive enabler of democratic participation, deliberation and information.

The Committee is advocating internet governance structures which allow for maximum utility and freedom for individual users as global citizens. Herein we promote a constitutional aproach guaranteeing adequate user rights. The Committee deems it necessary to transpose human rights to the distinctive and increasingly more immersive experience of cyberspace as sphere of democratic activitiy.

KDUN supports the Dynamic Coalition on the Internet Bill of Rights and is member of EURALO-ICANN At Large Europe.

KDUN's Internet Governance team welcomes collaborators and is always interested in developing its cooperative network with other organisations.
