A United Nations Parliamentary Assembly (UNPA) for the first time would give elected citizen representatives, not only states and their appointed government officials, a direct and influential role in global policy.
The Committee for a Democratic U.N. (KDUN) considers the establishment of a global parliament as an absolutely essential step to democratize global governance and international institutions. Its operational activities are concentrated on this goal.
KDUN is co-founder of the international Campaign for the Establishment of a United Nations Parliamentary Assembly (CEUNPA) that was launched in April 2007 and acts as the International Secretariat of the Campaign. In this capacity, KDUN is a service provider for all CEUNPA participants and coordinates international action.
CEUNPA is supported by over 500 Members of Parliament, 200 non-governmental organizations and over 3,000 individuals from more than 100 countries.
More information on the Campaign is available on the international website that is maintained in English, French, German and Spanish.
